Organizations have increasingly realized appreciation programs as one of the methods of increasing internal motivation of employees and achieving goals. Therefore, from this point of view, excellent employees selection program in organizations can be important. The aim of the upcoming research is to provide a excellent employees selection model in organizations with a matrix structure. In this research, the Grounded theory was used, and by using the purposeful sampling method and snowball technique, a semi-structured interview was conducted with 12 experts and managers of one of the large companies related to the defense industry, and 142 statistics concepts and finally 22 categories. They were identified in the form of 6 main and subcategory (reasons, methods, contextual and intervening conditions, strategy and consequences of the selection and introduction program of excellent employees). The selection of the excellent employees selection as a central category was done based on the two axes of personal and behavioral competence as well as technical and specialized competence and corresponding to it from the two strategies of rational methods and intuitive methods. In the selective coding stage, the theoretical model based on the research findings was introduced and explained. The evaluation of the research was done based on the criteria of acceptability. Then the model was implemented in the mentioned company and the excellent employees were appreciated.
