Desires and Successes in Managers' Carriers

Abstract

This research is intended to study the relationship between the desires of the managers and their successes in their carrier at Iranian Polyacryl Company. To conduct the research, a sample group of 83 subjects, including managers at high, middle, and supervisory levels was formed randomly. to collect data, two questionnaires, including Shine's carrier desires test and a researcher made career success test were employed. The data were analyzed by t-test, Pierson correlation coefficient, and regression analysis. The results indicated that entrepreneurial innovations, being the first and having independence include the last career desires of managers. Desire for success in mental career is more than that of success in objective career  for managers. desires relating to general management, independence and work-home balance are good predictors of career success. There are also significant positive relationship between work satisfaction and life satisfaction (P<0.05).
