The Role of Mediation of Organizational Commitment in the Relationship between Entrepreneurial Approach and Organizational Performance

Document Type : Research Paper

Abstract

In the contemporary organization and management literature, entrepreneurial and organizational commitment approaches are regarded as two effective factors for appropriate performance. Hence, this research is intended to study the role of entrepreneurship approach for organizational performance in some selected research centers by organizational commitment mediation. Research population included 500 researchers and specialists working in 25 public university research centers in Tehran. This is a descriptive survey research, which uses questionnaires for collecting data. Hypothesis testing is conducted by structured equations modeling test. The results indicated that the entrepreneurial approach significantly has a direct promotional effect (as much as 90 percent) on performance level in the target population. However, organizational commitment, as a mediator variable indicated no significant role in this regard.
