The Effect of Social Support of the Employees Welfare with Mediation of Work Addiction and Belonging

Abstract

Organization have covered all aspects of human life. Most people spent a great part of their lives on working. Increasing social support makes employees show higher belongings to their job. They become more satisfied and would like to stay in the organization for longer time without any intention to leave it. This research aims at assessing the role of more social support on employees’ welfare with relation to work addiction and belongings. The data is collected from a number of 188 employees in the Iranian National Standard Organization through random sampling. The hypotheses were tested by correlation analysis and structural equations modeling. The results indicated that work belonging positively affects job satisfaction. Yet, it showed a negative relation with perceived stress and sleep disorders. On the other hand, work addiction has negative affect on job satisfaction. It has positive effects on perceived stress and sleep disorders. The result confirmed the mediation role of work addiction in the relationship between social support and sleep disorders.
