Research Strategies in Human Resource Management

Abstract

A Research contains the process of gathering data, information and facts for the purpose of confirming a hypothesis or answering specific questions. The main goal of conducting researches in any field is producing and developing knowledge for the purpose of increasing efficiency and effectiveness. Research in the field of human resource management is a systematic field of management inquiry that seeks to increase human resource productivity, as well as other effective issues. Like other disciplines, research strategies in human resource management are categorized on the basis of their philosophical positions (positivism and social structuralism), and the extent of the researcher’s involvement (independent of research process and his involvement in it). These strategies include: case study, grounded theory, field study (survey research) and action research. Human resource researchers can benefit from considering the previous human resource inquiries of this type to gain a better and comprehensive view of the research process
