Conceptualization of Professionalization of Human Resource Management

Abstract

Professionalization is a key concept. The extension of the strategic human resource has led human resource specialists to professionalize human resource management. This research is intended to design a conceptual framework for the professional development of human resource management. In order to achieve this goal, the grounded theory was used. Having employed this approach, the researchers identified causative conditions, interventional conditions, contextual conditions, the strategies and consequences of these strategies. Semi-structured interviews were used for data collection. The participants in the research interviews included 15 human resource managers and experts, human resources lecturers and researchers, and human resource officials. The analysis of the data was performed in three stages of open coding, axial coding and selective coding. Having analyzed the data, the researchers were able to design the conceptual framework of HRM. The results of this research and its applied methodology can be used as a basis for the analysis of professionalization in the field of human resource management in governmental organizations. Finally, based on research findings, some suggestions are presented.
